The parade will be on Saturday, July 15, 2023.
***No parade form/fee required. Just come line-up as directed by parade organizers. ***
Parade starts at 10:00 am
Line-up begins at 8:30. Line up at Waverly Sales Company – 2212 5th Ave NW, as directed by parade organizers. Please note only fire trucks line up by Bartels.
There will be cash prizes sponsored by First National Bank for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places as determined by judges.
**Please do NOT drive to the back if you are dropping people off. Park up front and either have one of our runners take you back with their golf cart or walk back. It causes extra congestion and we like to keep things running smoothly. Thank you for your attention to this.
**We do not “save spots” for other floats you want to be with. You need to show up at the same time or wait up front of the buildings until all parties arrive.
PARADE RULES/REGULATIONS:
*Walking unit with children must have adult supervision at all times.
*Children riding on floats must STAY on the float throughout parade. No getting on and off.
*Must have adult supervision with floats at all times who instruct children they cannot jump off a float for any reason.
*Do not park non-entry vehicles (cars, etc.) in line-up area or along parade route.
*Do not throw candy from a vehicle or float. Have walkers distribute any candy.
*Do not risk a child falling under wheels of a parade entry.
*Fire trucks will now lineup on the north side of 4th Ave NW facing west. Fire Departments must enter 4th Ave NW from the east via 17th St NW. Only dignitaries will be permitted to lineup in front of the Waverly Sales Company. Everyone else MUST lineup in the back lot north of the Waverly Sales Company buildings
*Absolutely NO PARKING along any driveways or roads at Waverly Sales Company.
*Parade lineup begins at 8:30 AM on Saturday, July 16, 2022. Anyone arriving early will be directed to the back lot north of the Waverly Sales Company to lineup. Parade participants should gather elsewhere and come to the Waverly Sales Company as a group and not individually to avoid extra traffic during parade lineup and eliminate confusion as to where each entry is located.
*Parade organizers will instruct you where to lineup. Please treat them with respect, they are volunteers who help make the Waverly Heritage Days parade successful.
*ABSOLUTELY NO WATER GUNS, WATER BALLOONS OR ANY THROWING OF WATER FROM PARADE PARTICIPANTS DURING PARADE. PARTICIPANTS WITH ANY OF THESE WATER ITEMS WILL DUMP WATER BEFORE ENTERING PARADE OR WILL BE BARRED FROM THE PARADE!
*ABSOLUTELY NO DUMPING OF WATER OR SOAP MIXTURES ON THE STREET DURING PARADE. ANYONE DUMPING WATER OR SOAP WILL BE ASKED TO EXIT PARADE!
*At the end of the parade, continue with your float along 5th avenue and park on a side street to load or unload parade participants. DO NOT STOP on 5th avenue or park along that street. It makes it difficult to keep traffic going and the parade gets backed up if people stop to let people on and off the float. THANK YOU!
